Eclipse
2009
As
far as the year went, we felt we had a rather successful year. We
had some young ladies that found out what tournament softball was
all about. We were a very inexperienced team that really showed
what they were made of. The coaches and parents were extremely proud
of the way our girls battled all year. We participated in 3 tournaments
this season. The MAYSA Triple Play Tournament where we won our first
game, a first for all of us. We then lost the next two but competed
nicely. We then had 4-5 scrimmages with the Winslow Orange Crush.
Those were coaching scrimmages and they were very helpful. Prior
to participating in the State 12B tournament, I would like to thank
Emily Leighton and Alei Collier for helping our team at practice.
Emily pitched and Alei caught. The girls learned a lot under the
guidance of these two young ladies. We headed for the states feeling
confident. Our young ladies proved that with hard work and dedication,
anything was possible. With 11 teams competing, we finished 4th
with a 3-2 record. It was a most inspiring weekend for all of us.
We then played in the Coca-Cola classic and fought Mother Nature
again. We went 0-2 but played very well.
Thanks so much from all of us on Eclipse for the understanding and
consideration that MAYSA showed us during the year. It’s a
great organization to be a part of.
